Buying a new car! Need advice.

I have been thinking of getting one of these for a while now, and recently have been getting very tempted.
I am thinking of importing a base 65 or 66 Mustang Fastback and fully rebuilding it to this kind of style. (minus the huge bonet buldge)
What do you level headed lot think of them?

yes I did say they're quite a nice car!!) For someone who is after a 1965 classic car, I porsonally can't see any attraction to getting the 2006 modern version!
Agree with you that it'll be a much nice car to drive etc, but I really fancy haveing an old classic in my collection that will actually appreciate over time!
That way, when I am crying about the loss of a stack of cash on my Noble, I can smile about the fact that my 65 fastback is worth £10k more than I paid for it!

Besides, the car above is actually a very modern car. Hate to think what it cost, but its running a brand new 5.0 L V8 Cammer engine through a new 5 sp 'box and brand new running gear!
Might bring my V8 to you trevor for some of that Rouch magic!

We have a range of small and big blocks from the Roush Performance catalogue, including the 6.6l 8-stack fuel injected engine based on a small block with 500bhp!!! See them at the Stoneleigh Show this weekend.

Mr Noble - my bro' lives in Denver, previously in Phoenix - careful with this idea.. these cars are a total triumph of style over substance - and completely overvalued in the US - you'd be better finding one here.. check out the mustang owners club.. what about a classic brit eg, Triumph TR5 etc, - i ran a 67 Lotus elan - beautiful to drive.. and can be picked up for 10k via the lotus owners club mag. While I had it it was featured in classic cars jan 99, and Gordon Murray turned up - he runs an S2 elan as one of his everyday cars! There are so many options for the money you are thinking of..

They do appear to actually be cheaper in the UK.
I actually have a funny idea to buy one now and have it for years and years and at some point, give it a full modern overhaul like the one above, so its like a brand new 450bhp supercar in a 1965 body! Very cool

That, I think, is the only thing thats putting me off.
When I think about the oughtright "fun" I am gfoing to expect in it, I start to wonder if a 10 grand original elise wouldn't be more fun. Then I remember that I have a noble, and wonder why I ever started thinking about getting another car in the first place.
I think I should forget it for a few years.
Besides, I don't have anywhere to put it!
