haha. excellent report .. I did my camber and tracking for a year like that before i could afford the laser stuff .. no more accurate now but looks better for impressionable customers.

Did mine a similar way (after i fitted some moody after market shocks & poly bushes )

I also put a spirit level across a few places on the main chassis members

could do with some help on this one, I have just had 2 new tyres fitted this morning, and on having the tracking checked the fitter said that he needed the amount of toe in in mm, whereas I told him it was 20 minutes of a degree.
so on reading Nic`s article, 20 minutes is equivalent to 5mm , which is 2.5mm per wheel?
the tracking at the moment is 2mm toe out, so it definately needs doing, and the fitter is happy to adjust so long as he can set up his laser in mm, I`d just like confirmation in case I totally missread the whole thing!!!

Hi Clive, 2.5mm per wheel would be right. Some people do use toe out, as it improves turn-in at the cost of reduced stability. For most Griff driving, stabiltiy is what is really needed!

For a rwd road car you don't ever want toe-out anywhere under any circumstances.

Just to clarify please, 2.5mm is about 20mins.

In Nic's article he said
"As with camber, the angle can be calculated from the wheel diameter, and the same numbers apply. 5mm of toe-in is equivalent to 5/7 degrees, this is equal to 0.71 degrees or 43 minutes (there are 60 minutes in a degree). The number measured is for both wheels, therefore half for each wheel. This car is set at 21.5 minutes"

Do Griffs like 20mins per wheel or total across the axle???????
