Windscreen update

Just picked up my Cerby from National Windscreens in Basildon complete with new windscreen - top job and Lee (the manager) held on until 7 for me - perfect job. They even polished out a few scratches that I already had on the scuttle panel.
Anyway the good news, they managed to get the old cracked screen out in one peice and it has been sent off to be used as a templete for re-manufacture so hopefully that's one more part we won't have to worry about in future.
Easy 300 Driver gave the recommendation and I'll second it - first class service.

Thinking of getting mine done...a couple of small stone chips (which will no doubt crack across the screen eventually) and the usual 'milky' bit at the bottom of the screen...and seeing as Im also very local to Basildon..I think i'll get mine done there...can you mail me over any details?...and was there an excess to pay?...Did they get the side trims off ok?...mine are the carbon type and done want them damaged/replaced with anything else!

Satman, they are just off the A127 in Paycocke Road, Basildon on the Olympic Business Park (opposite SpaceMaker)SS14 3EX, tel: [phone]. Lee isn't at this branch all the time but you will always get him on a Friday. I'm sure he will insist on doing your car himself as he did mine. £60 excess rest on the insurance. He was worried that he might damage the carbon trims and said usually they order new ones, I have had these on order for longer than the windscreen now (2 months plus) so I removed them myself while I was waiting and relaquered them and they look as good as new. Bit of a struggle to get them off but if you take your time they'll give eventually.

windscreen services in canvey island usually have no problems with tvr screens we`ve had a few and I cant ever remember waiting for any 01268 512200.

Make sure its from the good batch, there were rumours abound of a weak batch floating around or something.... tell them you wanna test how strong the screen is, let them give you a free screen to try out a hammering session on, and make your mind up from there.... if the screen absorbs the impact, then you're onto a winner...
