I think I need to get out more....
Discussion
Bank holiday weekend. Normal people are out enjoying the early Spring weather, maybe driving their car through the countryside, catching up with friends, enjoying quality time with their loved ones.
Me? I get up early, turn the phone off and spend 3 hours giving the car its Spring Zymol treatment. Now my back hurts.
Still the car looks awesome and my hands now have that weirdly appealing post-Zymol scent.
is it me or does that sound a bit perverted? Am I scaring people? Oh no.... so this is what it is like to be a freak then.... Oh the horror,....

Firstly dont' worry
In the morning when you glance longingly at the cleaning kit,
instead snatch the keys, a goodly amount of money,
and proceed with all haste, to the open road to collect, dead bugs about the front
Trust me i'm like a doctor
Good god man - are you mad? I can never drive the car again. Any smear on it's otherwise perfect paint will have me in tears.
Ok now I'm scaring myself. And apparently I am now one of those anoraks who don't drive, just polish. Nothing wrong with that I say. Seems a perfectly sensible thing to do after all that polishing effort. Now where's my cardigan nurse?

You've got it bad mate !!!
But there's plenty round here with the same symptoms
Looking good though, and know how you feel about bad back etc, doing that 3x Zymol is
a killer !!!

I caught the same canuba virus this morning and my hands are so smooth as a baby's behind. However, this was the frist time I used the cleaning "mud" and the zymol thereafter. I was a bit dissapointed with the hard work you had to put in in order to polish off the wax as it seemed that some small black spots remained until you applied a lot of pressure which made the whole excercise b..... hard work. Did I do something wrong or is this the norm when using zymol.

weaning a zymol junkie away from his next buffing fix

Thanks Ballsey. It is 2 coats of silcon based tyre shine. Paint it on with a brush. Then let the voices have their evil way.... "polish, polish, you must polish...."

but then it all sprays up the side of your car when doing anything over 60mph !
I use an old sponge, and resist the temptation to make them look too wet. as althought they look great (as this pic)
it all ends up down the side of your car, and that don't look good on speed yellowor light colours.

Lets face it driving around on a bank holiday isn't much fun...even in a nice motor like yours! Might as well polish it and wait for a quiet day ( when all the plebs are back at work!!) (runsforcover!)
That's all good and well Paul but you haven't considered two vital points:
1. I'll be back at work too. I must be a pleb (not disagreeing, just making a statement)
2. If I go for a drive my nice clean sparkly car might get some dirt on it. After several hours of polishing I can't let that happen. I can't you hear me??
Sadly my car can never be driven again. It will forever sit in my garage wondering when it will come out to get polished again (cue voices in head 'soon car, soon you will be polished. Polish...polish...polish'} and then be put away under its dust cover. It is a sad existance but preferable to the insane horror I will feel if a speck of dust is allowed to come into contact with its pure, virgin smooth paint.
Now if anyone needs me I will off at a straight jacket fitting. Something in white with matching belt straps I think.

hi all thats what i was going to do wife took car for a pint of milk still not back after
3,5 hours shop only 10min away
Do ya think she went out to buy some punctuation?
Loony ducks, runs for cover. Then stops to think about polish
Ps, Just joking Brickster. Did she come back?
I've been doing my 996tt all day. Results:
Wife hates me, child doesn't recognise me, can't stand up straight, hands smell of Brazil. Car looks nice, not scrtched like your's Looney.
As for plebs, I know what you mean. Try living in Cardiff, its like Chernobyl 20 years on...
