968 Cat 1 alarm advice please

Hi guys

Just bought a nice 968CS and need to add weight (gasp) by fitting a Cat 1 alarm. Apparently the Porsche immobiliser isn't enough.
Do you have any advice which is the best/ will protect the car/ isn't too intrusive/ won't drain the battery?

Also, what engine oil and brake pads are best for fast road use (squeal vs durability vs bite)- bit disappointed with the stopping so braided hoses better fluid and pads coming up

Welcome to the world of "front runners"

Alrms are all a pain in the rear but a necessary evil... your local alarm shop should be able to help you out. If you can garage the car then a battery conditioner is well worth the investment.

As for brake pads, I started using Mintex pads in my caterham days and kept them on my CS trackcar, the 1155's Ive had in the car have lasted about 20 trackdays without any problems. I use ATE racing blue fluid.

Thanks doctor, my track day partner in crime uses the brake fluid you mention - makes a massive difference.

Do you know if the 968 has a 20-30% stiffer clutch than a 944? Feels more like an M3 clutch (less of a biting point). Maybe I just need a new clutch!

for some reason trying to get any information on alarms/immobilisers on PH is pointless. I've tried about 4 times now with no luck. No one seems willing to recomend any products or any decent firms to fit; bit like trying to find a plumber.

heavy clutch hmm... sounds very familiar!

I have got ATE racing blue fluid for clutch fluid as well! Not sure if thats a good thing or not but hey-ho its there now!
