Great race. Some great scraps, especially in that front group of four during the second half. It would have been interesting to see how Rossi would have performed had he been mixing it with them. What a shame Stoner lost it in the last few corners; he must be gutted. Also feel sorry for Pedrosa coming off like that.

Yep, a terrific race - more like a 125cc race than MotoGP. Pedrosa and Melandri came from 16th and 14th on the grid!

Shame the Turks couldn't be bothered to go and watch though, as there were plenty of semi-deserted grandstands. It seems they're only interested in F1.

Was an absolutely great race today. Think Rossi would have won it if not for the earlier tour of the grass.

I'm pleased he went on the grass. I admire the bloke's talent hugely, but have become a little fed up with him winning everything in recent years. To have those four battling without knowing that Rossi would come through eventually was really refreshing.

There were 38,000 folks there, is that not enough?

It's about 37,995 more than turned up for the LMS race...

It's actually 37,996 more than paid to get through the gate for the LMS race - allegedly...

Oh I know there were a few there, but MotoGP usually gets truly massive crowds.

I did hear the Eurosport commentators mention though that there are hardly any bike or moped riders on the roads in Turkey, so maybe its a growing market?

almost 40K in paying punters isn't a bad return, especially when its been less than a year since the first race there. And it certainly tips the LMS attendance into touch.
I'd expect maybe double that for next year for the bikes. It certainyl seems to lend itself to bike racing a lot more than sportscars. I reckon the final series of corners is no good for a rolling start, the back of the grid never has a chance of being on equal terms.

I can't see anyone at SRO having the excuse that there aren't any motorsport fans out there as a reason for poor ticket sales...
Although, I can't see LMS going there again to be fair.

IF you thought the main race was good the 250 has to be one of the best I,ve ever seen. Utter madness on the last lap.
