Has the PCM set any DTCs ? Always the best place to start.

Yeah check the DIC as you are getting ABS faults. Doubt they are connected because the cutting out could be a few things that are car related rather than vette related.
- Water in the Petrol
- Petrol starvation
- Oil Level Low
- Clutch issue (thats why with an auto you dont have control but you have manual so this may be different is the clutch is working and fully depressed)
Mine cut out a few times the same way and i needed to top the oil up. After I did that it was fine.

ABS thing is really only diagnosed through the DIC. Can you pull the codes off?

I had the bottom end re-built 1000 miles ago. Had the oil changes again about 500 miles ago. Cheers

Could be a dodgy connection around the engine. Have you checked all the plugs and sockets for a snug fit? I once disconnected a steering column and it threw up loads of errors.

If the car has big miles and you havnt changed the gas filter - this may be a cause - good gas pressure is essential - I have not heard of this symptom with C5's mostly c4

I had a similar problem that we traced to a cluster of earth wires on the left side of the engine block, they had not been done up tight enough when the engine was reinstalled,it caused the car to cut out every so often without warning,it took me ages to find that fault. best of luck...Clive.
