Not so good mate,,,but maybe not that bad..If you do short trips in the car then it is often condensation in the engine not getting burnt off, leaving this mayonnaise type depodit...
take the car out on some long runs & hopefully this stuff should not re appear.
If however you use the car for long journeys, then it is potentially not so good.It could be water getting in with the oil from one of the heads & will only get worse. You will notice higher running temperatures & stronger engine smells
I really do not want to alarm you ,but there were a few intances of this in early 996 which Porsche sorted under warranty.
Hopefully it is just short trips causing this & that is easily rectified. If it persists after trying to clear things up,a trip to a dealer / specialist is the only answer.

Check whether your coolant level is going down slowly but surely...
If it is, then head gasket failure is extremely likely.
If it doesn't, then condensation seems like the obvious answer.
Even with a weeping head gasket, the car will still be driveable until it gets extremely serious, but it is still worth checking out sooner rather than later.
Hope it's condensation!
Cheers

took mine out for a spin today.
During the winter I don't use it much, I take it out about once a week for minimum 40-50 miles - so the engine does get hot.
I too have a little "mayonnaise" in the filler cap. But if you look at the length of the filler tube and the distance away from the oil sump, then it would not surprise me at all that condensation forms in the winter.
If your coolant level stays the same, I wouldn't worry. Grit your teeth and wait until the winter is over.
