My battery's performance at PF06 gave me reason to doubt it's reliability so I shall have to change it. I think it's 6yrs old so it has done its job. I know it's posted here but I've tried several searches and not found it. I have no problem with fitting it, I just don't have any idea what battery is in there.

Anyone bought one recently and can remember what type it was?

type 072 is the spec - you may have trouble finding one though - I ended up with an 089 .

edited to add 'round terminal posts btw'

Hi Bob, I fitted one of these:

It just about fits in to the box on my Griff, the terminals are the wrong way around (no problem because the leads are long anyway) and the feet on the battery have to be trimmed. It has a 720CCA rating and cranks very strongly. Not the easiest solution but probably the best once fitted.. It cost £50 from my local GSF

Thanks chaps I will phone around to see what's available. Limit it to £50 I would think.
