Formatting Tags

Just a thought Ted....

Some of the less computer literate members of this forum sometimes struggle to post images/use the other formatting tags correctly. I've noticed on other forums I use (based on phpbb) when replying there are buttons you can press to turn on/off formatting codes, which can make things easier for computer novices. Could be worth looking at implementing something similar here.

You could perhaps have two versions of the post reply screen (ie "expert" as now, "novice" with additional help) with a setting to choose between them like the contributor stats under peoples names.

Hmmm.

I have an idea for a little freeware program - it could have a GUI and construct the appropriate PH code for you.

I may have a play with that this evening.

Just need a name for it. Any suggestions?

Hmm. Not much point me writing this little app then.

If it's no more than a few hours work I may do it anyway, but it has slipped down my priority list somewhat now.

It's imminent. Should be ready (like all the other things I'm working on) in about six months
