Bonnet cross braces!!

The cross braces on my chimaera are rubbing against the alternator belt, so they seemed? On further investigation i've noticed that they are rubbing but not only that, they're ARCING against the alternator too!! Recently the car has been playing up, by cutting out every now and then, each time i take it to a garage they can't find anything wrong? Could this be the cause of all my nightmares? And the reason for TVR to alter them on later models? Anyone else had a problem with this?
Engine Mounts.
If they've perished then the engine could be lifting up when its running and hitting the bonnet.

Nothing wrong with the engine mounts, they're totally solid, i've noticed a crack in the bonnet where the cross brace attaches to the bonnet, i think someone before me must have had ago at bending them?? Maybe this is the cause? I'll have to get some new braces to fit the damaged ones, any ideas where to buy them?
