Is this file OK? Spybot keeps telling me it is a suspect file and do I want to remove it.

A file or a registry setting?

It's a registry setting, Spybot just identifies it and says 'fix selected problems'

Thought so... That setting just controls whether Windows nags you about your anti-virus being out of date or not installed. Won't do any harm to re-enable it as you should keep your AV up to date. A gentle prod is far less hasle than a nasty virus.

If you haven't got AV, get the AVG free one

Cheers, I've got AVG free and full Zone Alarm and recently enabled Windows Security Center too. I'm guessing Security Center needs to override AVG to operate.
