Went down a ramp (slowly) in the dark tonight in the GT3, to get a sudden dragging under left side wheel.

Didn't notice anything on the road as I went down ramp (although it was dark).

Got out and had a look and there is a circular think metal strip (like a think rod) that follows just inside the circumference of the wheel arch dragging under the car near the front left wheel - just behind it.

Had to pull it away from underneath as it was dragging and nature of effort to get it free makes me think it was on the car, rather than got wedged below it.

Any ideas as I cannot easily jack the car up myself to look.

Is it some sort of trim round the edge of the wheel arch? A comparision with the other side would probably show what it was.

Looks like a spring ring from a GT3 wheel cover.

Seriously, a spring ring from a wheel cover from a more plebian car's steel wheels that came off, probably when the owner swiped the kerb and the wheel cover popped off and got flattened by a few passing cars. Nought to worry about

3 weeks ago lovely and clean (except for a couple of scuffs and the odd chunk coming off the porsche badge.

600 miles later and no clean, those wheels get dirty quickly.

Time to not be so lazy this weekend and get the bucket out (hose-pipe ban lethargy influenced).
