I'm going to change the rad on my Libra and need a big, low profile fan.
Who's a good supplier of Spal fans please?

www.s-v-c.co.uk great place to get hold of bits and bobs like this. I got a Pacet fan from there - fantastic fan!

Thanks for your help folks.
It had to be Spal because the space is limited and they have one which is only 52mm thick.

Bought from:
www.feredaycars.co.uk/
Alan Fereday replied to email really promptly and was very helpful on the phone.

Paul,

You should have told me you needed a Spal fan, I could easily have brought you one :-)) Using a Spal myself. Pay attention: Spal fans come in 52 and 63 mm height (and bigger). Only 52 fitted in my car.

BTW - I ordered the fan yesterday lunchtime, it arrived at 10:00 this am.
I've fitted it with the 'knitting needles'.
Thanks Alan Fereday!

I disliked the knitting needles type fitment (Pacet fitment at least) are a swine - I was terrified I was going to rip the elements of the core apart when I fitted mine to the deceased Marlin

I like your car

Thanks Stefan, when do you get your Libra?
Had a bu88er of a day today, swearing at the plumbing at the front of the car. Sussed it out now, need to order some more expensive blue hose!

Question about the Libra... Specifically the V6...

Is the car reliable enough to be used as an everyday runner? I can't afford to have a weekend car really (well, don't have room for one anyway!) and have been looking at the libra for a while.

I would be using it for everyday commuting, and for fun at weekends. About 15000miles per year overall...

I am not bothered about making compromises for comfort etc, I like the stripped out feel of the Libra. However, it worries me that a kit car may not be practical for everyday use?

Would I be expecting too much from it, or will it fit the bill?

Some owners use their Libra everyday.
How reliable do you need?
Like a Toyota Camry, or like a (fill in your own idea of an only averagely reliable car)?
How big is your budget? The factory will build you a turnkey car. Or do you fancy building it yourself? If so you will need help from www.teamgtm.com in order to build in reliability.
If you are thinking of buying secondhand, then the reliability is going to be down to the build and modifications made up to the time you get it.

Basically, there's no reason why any car built out of proper components shouldn't be reliable.

Many Libra's are being used as a daily driver. If there is one kitcar that can be used as a daily driver, I guess it is the Libra ?? Obviously I am slightly biassed, since I own a (not finished) Libra myself.

Don't expect VW Golf sort of comfort, don't expect VW Golf performance. Comfort will be better in the Golf, performance will be better in the Libra...

Practical? Loads more room in the VVC.

Hehe, but I currently own a Smart Roadster... So that kinda proves that boot-space is not really on my list of priorities! :-D

No, I'm more about fun behind the wheel. And I think that the V6 might just be enough to put a grin on my face... :-)

The 1800 K series Libra weighs around 800Kg. It is pretty quick - IMHO it's more nimble than the V6, since the V6 weight all goes at the wrong place, and the C of G goes rearward and upwards. The V6 is a great car, but I like my VVC car.
