Can anyone get me a photo of their gearbox support bracket for a T5 box and also how is it fixed to the brackets on the chassis (see photo)

If its basic enough I'll make my own.

Is the bracket fixed via rubber mounts and also how is the gearbox supported by the bracket - bolted directly ?

Thanks folks !

The Bracket is 2 parts, a bracket with a bush in it ( bolt through left to right) that bolts to the bottom of the gearbox and then a xmember that bolts to the chassis

The Xmember is a tube going from left to right in that picture. the tube has both ends sealed with a welded on end and where the bolts go through from the chassis ( front to back in the pic) they have sleaves welded in so the tube doesnt get crushed. Comming off either side of the tube at the back are two brackets which fit either side of the gearbox bracket and a bolt goes through left to right.

when i put the rv8 in i cut off and extended the two brackets on the xmember.

hope thats some help

Thanks Graham

So is your gearbox a T5 (I can't remember) ? And does it sit further back than if mated to and AJP hence your modification ?

When I ran a tape measure over my gearbox and bell housing it looked like the gearlever "should" sit nicely in the hole through into the cockpit.

I can see me regretting that statement when I come to fit the whole thing.

Yep T5 mated to the rv8 via a je bellhousing.

we wanted the engine as far back as possible so the gearbox sits higher up and further back in our car, The propshaft needed shortening as well.

When i spoke to the guys a david gerald their gearbox sits further back than when it was an ajp car..

i didnt trim much from the hole for the gear leaver, and some have a bigger hole than others..
