Hi

I'm considering getting the straight thru exhaust modification done - and rather than phone every dealer in the land, I was just wondering what folks who'd had it done paid - who it was done by and, most importantly, was it a good job?

Cheers!

What's the difference between the straight-through vs a "sports exhaust" - are you talking about the manifolds etc?

Also can anyone tell me if you de-cat, doesn't it affect the emissions? and would fail the MOT.

Thanks to those that have posted so far - looks like the bidding starts at £160 at Austech.

Those custom stainless exhausts on the green Chim on the Autotune site look MEAN - I'm likeing those a lot.

Yep, I did...but, that was before I bought myself a BMW 330d for long journeys and rainy days...which, incidentally, I am getting chipped up to 240-odd BHP. I may put it on Austec's rollers to see if the chipping does what it says on the tin.

Im planning to have Cherry bombs installed rather than straight through pipes - apparently makes the sound deeper and meaner and still lets the pops and bangs through. Perry at the V8 centre does them....cant recall how much though....

go straight thru pipes...!!!

2 peices of 50mm dia stainless pipe 1 metre long = £20
borrow / hijack / pinch a mig welder and it takes about an 1-1.5 hours to remove the rear anti roll bar, remove the exhaust, cut weld and put back on!!!

Have not managed to upset the neighbours yet...shall have to get some different manifolds!!!

Have a look on pistonheads.tv for tunnel run video's.. I'm pretty certain there's a video of Hughesie launching from some traffic lights... (yellow 500).. it sounds rather special!
