Morning all!

Quick (and possibly daft) question - is it possible to drop into the factory (announced or unannounced) and is there anything to see? I'll be in Italy in the TVR in a couple of weeks, and passing very close to Modena en route from Garda to Pisa, via Mantua..

Otherwise I'll just pick up a famous Modena export myself. Balsamic vinegar! (and some ham from up the road!)

thanks

Er, No!

They don't always let in pre booked tours, it depends what you are working on.
You can get into the Scudderia (Ferrari Museum) its just up the road, literally 100 yards away. In the same area is Maserati,Lambo, Ducati, Pannini museum, and a few other things worth seeing. These are all much more ameinable to visitors. If you want specific details mail me.

Just noticed the 2nd para of your post. The pannini muso is on a farm that makes parmesan and there are several places that make vinegar.

You really have to have a car on order and through a dealer to get near the factory.

Ferrari Owners club arrange visits to the factory if you can't visit through a dealer.

(I did a factory tour in 2001)

To the original poster...

I'm off to a wedding in Modena in a few weeks and have been looking into this myself. The Ferrari factory is a no no but the Musuem (as someone said) is open all week, 9-5. 12 Euros to get in.

Lamborghini does do arranged factory tours, I'm still waiting to hear back. They also have a musuem, and do guided tours there too. Maserati does factory tours, but this has to be arrange through a dealer, that said, I have a friend who works there (its his wedding we're off to!) trying to sort something out.

Thats about all I know at the moment, when I hear back with better info I'll post it up.

I did a fairly comprehensive tour of the area, both factories and museums of Lambo, Ferrari, Maserati and Ducati plus a few private collections. If I knew how to post pics I could show you what to expect.
The Lambo museum is at the factory entrance as is the Ducati one. The Ferrari Museum (The Galleria)is Just up the road from the factory as is the official shop. Maserati don't have an official museum, it was sold to the Pannini family and can be seen for a few euro's at their farm were they make Pamesan cheese.
Great trip and well worth doing. The new Audi funded Lambo factory is like an operating theatre.
If anyone is interested I'll mail them a few pics.
