I'm driving down To LeMans this time rather than riding shotgun with M@H.
So what vehicle documents do I need to carry with me and is any other kit compulsary, bulbs etc?
Can't wait!

Ooh, spooky, was just looking at the same thing myself:

www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/touring_tips/AA_France_Monaco.pdf

Covers general advice, but in terms of documents, this seems to be:
Driving Licence (both bits)
International Driving Permit if necessary
Original Registration Document
Insurance document

and if you plan to speed: many many colourful Euro banknotes

NB Superfluous advice: dont take any radar/laser detectors. Not even in the glovebox.

You're advised to take spare bulbs (a must!), warning triangle, first aid kit, reflective jacket, fire extinguisher - and insulating tape is a cheap way to show you've attempted to mask your headlights

i take photocopies of license, insurance, registration etc., and keep them "available".

the originals i take, but keep hidden, just in case of getting into "really hot water"

apparently it is difficult to retrieve docs from the gendarmerie.

cheers, d

fire extinguisher
first aid kit
spair pair of glasses (law in france if you need them to drive. NB not contacts or optical sunnies)

GB sticker

Not needed if you have number plates printed with blue 'Euro GB' tab.

Don't forget to get "Green Card" cover by notifying your car insurers that you are travelling. You don't now need to physically have a "Green Card" in your hand your insurance certificate is sufficient.

If someone else is likely to be driving your car unaccompanied at anytime they should carry a letter from you authorising them to drive (this is also also worth dealing with if your own car is registered to someone else).
