21,000 miles, I should have know that that's asking a lot of a T350 clutch. I didn't expect such a rapid decline though (please be warned). I made it to the middle of wales, great drive, but upon restart couldn't select 1st or reverse (managed it by selecting first and then starting the engine). Didn't fancy that all the way home (200 miles) and so it was RAC time.

They (bless them) didn't bother to see it. 'TVR ??, we'll send the truck', but didn turn up next morning with a hire car.

As we speak it's on it's way to TVR power.

I can't remember what I pay, but it's worth it.

What am I likely to pay ?? £1000 ??

Bigman.

Hi Bigman, sorry to hear that , Yes, the cost is (well, what I was quoted) just over £1K - mine's about to go too, your post has convinced me to book mine in before the Tam meet, as Sods Law will dictate that's exactly when it will finally die on me!

What are the symptoms exactly?

have only done 5000 miles though so can't imagine it couldve gone yet?!

I'd hope the clutch would last more than 5000 miles - Although I've read of similar.

Now I think about it, the gearchange was getting worse on the drive down. I found I had to press FULLY down on the clutch even during normal 3rd to 4th shifts.

Finally, I just couldn't get it into first or 5th/Reverse. It was a really quick deterioration (spelling ??).

I bought the car at 20,000 miles, so I don't know if how it felt when I bought it was normal or whether it will be an easier shift after a new clutch.

The symptoms you describe there are of release lever breakage not clutch plate wear.

This is due to faulty manufacture and is covered under any mechanical breakdown warranty.

Mine went at 10,000 miles.

Hopefully the replacement clutch is a modified design - I'll let you know.

I reckon around 30% of these clutches are faulty. Early signs are slight crunching when changing gear especially into 3rd.

Waiting on feedback from same problem with the 'Gris. 16K, daily driver.
1st and 2nd just OK with full depression on pedal, but became increasingly difficult to shift.

Ho hum. Back into the Chim, which I'm looking forward to with the sun out up here.

Will that be covered under the warrenty? as normally it's the fingers broken as opposed to the lining worn out.
