OPC extended warranty - a good story!!
Discussion
I thought I would post sth positive for a change as lots of bad press in terms of warranties and people shelling out all over the place!!
I got to work the other day and noticed a boiling water sort of smell....went to the passenger side and the car is dripping coolant onto the car park just by front wheel. got to be a rad or sth!
I had noticed I was loosing coolant and thought it might have been the coolant tank...which I hear is a common fault on the 996 and not covered under warranty.
great service from OPC in getting the car picked up and off to west london.
Michael is a very good service agent down there and kept me updated. I got a call yesterday to say it looks like there is no stone damage and it is a mfr defect....fingers crossed!!
call this morning reports a 'small explosion internally' resulting in rapid coolant loss! so all covered and whar a relief!
i have had probs before with OPC but this was dealt with well and efficicently, including the courtesy car.
saves me best part of 650 gbp so really looking forward to my hols next week and I think I will treat the old girl to some re furbed wheels!
sorry to hear of others woes but there are some positives out there to the OPC warranty, which I will be taking again as I have had well over a 1000 gbp done on the car!!
get out there voting as well chaps!

Just to second that. I had my C4S in for 48k service this week at West London OPC.
They found problems with the cooling system and subsequently replaced both my radiators under warranty without any fuss. I know for a fact other OPCs have refused to do this, citing 'wear and tear'.
Its not all bad news with OPCs and warranties.

for the OPC warranty.
Work has always been carried out without quibble by my OPC, even though they don't service it.
Had the A/C regassed, found a compressor was leaking. They didn't insist on checking it out themselves, just changed it.
This is no good gents. We are only allowed to complain about the warraenty. Even though I've had heat exchangers, bodywork and some pipes changed recently at no cost to myself (would have been 2k+) I am very annoyed for no particular reason.

Quite right. Surely Forums are for the three Cs - criticising, condemning and complaining
Well, I extended the warranty on my wife's Boxster three times and only had one piddly £200 claim. It's just not good enough

each to their own I guess!
even though you have only had a few claims then it is still a form of insurance.
I bet you don't grumble about paying car insurance and had no claims on the boxster for 3 years or had it nicked? same thing right!
I was pleased with the service, as well as the hire car and the new little blonde working at OPC recption is totally mint! chassis like a race GT3!
PHWAOR!!!!!

BMW warranty is £1050 under 60k miles and £1850 over 60k miles, both with a £250 excess for every claim.
I'm getting out of my M3 once its over 60k next year and want to spend around £40-45k on a 911, hoping TT's will fall into this price bracket next year.
When talking about West London OPC, do you mean Chiswick as its just around the corner from me.
