At a loose end this weekend so just checked out what motorsport is on and have seen FIA GT's are on at Silverstone, mainly practice on sat, but with 3 races in the afternoon, looks really cool, is anyone else going? Do you think it will be very busy on sat?

in a word no.

it will be very quiet. the general public are put off buy long races and tend to stay away. i went in 98 and it was really quiet. we sat at Camp and had a great time though. Merc CLK GTRs, Porsche GT1s, the Mac F1, the Panoz....all in the burning sun ahh, happy memories

Whats the supercar meet all about then, or is it that self explanatory!? IS it an organised event at Silverstone?

I'm going on Sunday too. GT3 race looks interesting with Porsches, Ferraris, Corvettes, Astons, Vipers, Ascaris and Maseratis.

Gonna be good!

Was at testing today. Glorious whether and some truely amazing cars. The supercar parade lap was literally that, but good to see none the less. Didn't spot a speed 12 though....

The GT cars themselves were amazing. There was so much diversity in both classes, with some real stand outs. The corvettes looked pretty quick, as did the astons, but not much came close to the MC12's which have the worlds worst paint scheme.

The maserati trofeo racers were pretty fun to watch. Several incidents there!

I'll post up some pictures later once Ive sifted through them!

I'll be there tomorrow and Sunday, Happy Snapper is already there. Bloody typical isn't it....we had cold, wind and rain for Pistonfest and 2CV's last weekend , hot weather when I'm stuck in the office all week just changing to rain in time for another motorsport camping weekend.....
