Leather dye on steering wheel?

Depends if you have a leather or a wooden wheel.

I've used a bit of black (kiwi) shoe polish - brings the leather
back to colour just nice - worth a try as most people have it lying around anyway.

Actually black shoe polish gets absorbed within 24 hours and it's still quite grippy, and gets grippier after a week or 2's use.
