hi guys looking to buy my first grff,some advertise with Serpentine engine can you can you help please.

The serp engine is the later multi groove belted engine.

This belt drives the alternator,PAS and on some aircon.Other internal changes were also made including the oil pump drive assembly.

Mines a preserp and as such is fitted with a standard old type "fan"belt.

Hello Brian.The question you asked has cropped up many times,very recently on the Chimeara forum.The Serpentine engines were a further development of the RV8 if you like,but i wouldn't worry too much if your griff will be a 'serp' or a 'pre-serp'.The question was well answered,as always,by GreenV8s,here:- www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=265994&f=8&h=0
