Colour Coding on RV8 Plenums.

I've asked a few people over the years about this but no-one seems to know the answer.

On the rear of most plenums in RV8 TVRs, i.e. V8Ss, Chimaeras and Griffiths, there are spots of paint, usually three different coloured daubs. I suspect this is some sort of coding used at the factory but does anyone know the code and what each colour combo signifies?

I seem to remember hearing that it was the sign that three teams or three people had finished their part of the assembly/setup process. Three daubs meant that the engine could finally be started.

I might be confusing this with another assembly line, but I do believe I heard this from a TVR bod.
