A little knowledge is a bad thing!
Discussion
I was pootling about with the PC (as you do) today and decided I'd try to fix a minor-ish problem that seemed to occur out of the blue sometime last week. I dunno if I'd done anything to make it happen, but I was finding certain websites, but by no means all, were coming up with the fonts vastly reduced in size, rendering them all but unreadable without a bit of guesswork to assist.
I hit on the idea of doing "system restore" - Going back to a date a couple of weeks ago,when everything was working fine and hoping that it would put my small font size problem right. Thankfully, it does seem to have done this, but whats happened now is that
there are (again a few, but not all) websites, that when I try to load them up, just come up with a blank white screen. (The address in the address bar is present and correct). Examples of the sites I'm trying access are my Hotmail sign in page, my personal email provider (Excite)... And even when I tried "system restore" - to restore it to it's original, not satisfactory state - that screen was completely blank to, so I couldn't even do that!
I am running Windows XP home edition (no smart-arse Linux comments please
)
Also, I don't suppose this is relevant, but whilst in pootle-about mode, I had previously in the day done a "disk cleanup", hoping to compress some unused files to make the PC run smoother. Can't see that affecting it though.
Is it something to do with sites that have been written using Javascipt???
Any ideas on how to resolve this would be mucho appreciated.
Aye Thankyew

First thing - text size in IE - pick "view" from the menu bar, select "text size" and pick one. Not sure why you system restored but hey ho water under the bridge.
Second problem - websites not rendering properly or at all in IE - possible due to the security settings in IE tools (either that or its all gone fubar) solution: download firefox www.mozilla.com/ and use instead.
