Diablo + Speedbumps
Discussion
Am I right in recollecting there was a (purchase) option on the Diablo to have a hydraulic pump on the front of the car to raise it by a few inches to assist with Speedbumps (or was it the F40)? If it is the Diablo, how useful is it and is it a 'must' when purchasing?
I remember many years ago speaking with Jason Barker when Lamborghini were in Reading - the local council had installed Diablo 'friendly' speedbumps near the showroom :-)

All Diablos from the introduction of the 1996 Roadster had the option of a front lifting system, with a retro-fit kit available for the SE-30 Diablo of 1994 onwards.
The system became standard fit from the 1999 model (open headlamps) and remains as standard fit on the Murcielago.
The system is now available as an option on the Gallardo as well.
It is worth it, but only if you are going to use it frequently, otherwise, without use, the rubber gaskets on the shock absorbers fail, and you are looking at replacement front shockers every three years, but only without regular use, as the system self lubricates, hence no problems if you use it.
Alan.

It's like really slow low-ridin' (okay it isn't but you can dream) utterly essential now I would say tho cos some of the newer speed humps (the ones they seem to build out of bricks rather than just tarmac) WILL remove your front splitter otherwise

Not all of the 99 Diablos had this option, A friends 99SV I am certain does not have this facility. I'll double check as I am buying Saturday.

Just had a look at that site. Not too impressed with the route from Brooklands to Brighton. Round the M25 and down the M23/A23 - a 1.5 hour motorway cruise. Is that the best they could come up with? I used to commute from Brighton to the M3/M4 corridor area and there are some superb A roads round that way. Why not try to incorporate the A272 and A281 into the route and have some fun driving and pretty scenery - plus put on more of a show for the locals en route.
