Not what i had for breakfast guys ! 2001 C2 with 40k on the clock and can now smell maple syrup after car heats up.
Could this be anything to do with exhaust, cats on way out etc
Any help or advise guys, thanks.

if its the cats, the smell will be akin to rotten eggs chum. the only fluid in a car that i can think of that has even a vaguley sweet smell is brake fluid. sorry about that. check your levels perhaps?

Coolant light did start to flash after a long trip back home last weekend but i have topped it all back up again.
It did take a lot to take it back up above minimum though, oops.
Nervous, look forward to the picks, does the extra 80-90hp really make that much difference when a heavy right foot lands at 4000rpm ?

I should say. I'll bet Nervous will agree. Had a ride in a friend's GT3 around Bedford last year. Blimey did that thing shift! Another pals C2, whilst pretty damn great, had significantly less urge.
Then I got back into mine...boy did it feel light on power...

on another note guys, just got home and the coolant has completely pissed out all over the floor outside, dripping down from inside the passenger wheel arch into a nice big puddle.
Is the the cracked wotsit or a damaged thingy ?

If it's actually in the arch as opposed to in front of it I suspect one of your coolant pipes have gone. You should be able to see the problem if you take the wheel off as i *think* I've seen the coolant pipes when I've had my wheel off. I seem to recall seeing a couple of unions under there.
If it's in front of the wheel then you've possibly holed a rad.
