Interior courtesy light not working.

Not a big issue I know, but it has never worked, and I know it’s not the bulb or the fuse!

Is there a common place where the wire breaks, or contacts fail?

I don’t fancy ripping the interior apart without a good chance of finding the problem.

There's a delay unit in the fuse box (big yellow relay type thing). This has been known to cause trouble.

I removed mine as the new alarm does interior light control rather nicer than the delay unit...

Check the door contacts, that the bulbs hasn't blown, the contacts on the light itself and the fuse box relay...

The wires bend as the hood folds - passenger side on the folding roof hoop by the hinge bolt. Also the connector for the interior light is in the b pillar behind the carpet section which covers the door lock access. Worth checking if you draw blanks elsewhere.

Yeh I had a similar problem with mine when I bought it. I mentioned it at service and Glynn (Torque RVT Middlewich) showed me the connections that Griffter's talking about. Simply unplugged the an inline socket and plug and reconnected it and the lights have been fine ever since

If you still have no joy from the help above,you might want to check the contacts are good in the light unit itself.Mine failed from this in my last griff,the replacement new light unit(ford part i was told) was only a fiver from a dealer!
