Why don't Boxters flash back ?

I was about to put my own thread saying I just waved at the last boxster driver. Jeez you guys have a chip on your shoulder. This week I waved at four of you and you all blanked me, but this guy just now on the A505 heading west towards Baldock actually deliberately leaned over as if getting something off the passenger seat* to avoid seeing my wave.
Sheesh, I know they're not exactly 911s, not exactly fast and not exactly very nice looking but I thought I'd cut you some slack.
But no more...

You guys are too harsh on Boxsters - there are lots of them around and for good reason too: The Boxster saved Porsche at a time when cost savings and platform sharing was their only salvation.
No I dont have one but I think its a great car (for what it is) - have it breathed over by Alois Ruf and you've got a genuine supercar...btw: anyone done this with a Cayman yet??

I would if you 911 drivers waved. 
I started a thread about this myself once actually.
There is a reason why we're all lumped together including the peasants, the answer of which is too long winded but a forum search might dig up a thread about the deletion of the "Boxster and Cayman" forum.
FWIW, I got told once by a PHer who shall remain nameless, but drives quite a rare and extremely focused 911, that the Boxster is how a Porsche should handle. I took this as a compliment.

Adam B fair comment on the spelling of Boxsters, i wasn't paying much attention.
I think some comments re using wife's, boyfriend's, significant others car may be a good reason to ignore another Porsche but do we want to get something similar to Impreza's, VW Camper, Landy County's, goin or not. i.e tell them how lovely other Porker owners can be.
I was so stunned last week that another 911 beat me to it and flashed (in Cheltenham on Hatherley Road), only had time to wave and i hope he saw.
It's nice to be waved at or flashed (wait's for nervous to say something rude....) but sometimes you may think someone is being a T**T by flashing, so wave instead.
Of course if you are trying to warn someone of a parked up van with a silly boy in blue hanging out of the back waving a big camera up the road then fair enough.

This has been done hasn't it ? I personally wanted a GT3 but the g/f has two small children so the silver one I found wasn't acceptable (to her anyway).
The 911 c2 they had was two years newer and had small rear seats so I had to make a choice (she did, anyway).
Mine had the GT3 badges on it so even worse ! I took them off, Happy ?
and it's better then the 52 plate 325Ci Sport Coupe and the P1 so i'm happy despite the maple syrup smell (see other thread)

Bod, it's nothing personal, it's just a little tiring all this Boxster/911 nonsense. At the end of the day I've also come to the conclusion that there are many a 911/Boxster owner who aren't particularly enthusiastic about their cars, but I don't tend to associate myself with these types. I love talking about cars of all shapes and sizes to enthusiastic owners, in fact had a couple of lovely conversations last night at a PH meet. FWIW, I think you 911 enthusiasts are in the main sound guys, hell, after last night I've even got a soft spot for johnnywishbone.

Some people do flash/wave/smile/thumbs up and others don't, that's just the way it is.
Take a situation where someone flashes you in an unknown car, say a Nova with St.George's cross hanging out of the window. Now this chap may live on this very forum and he may aspire to owning any Porsche but isn't yet at the stage in their life that allows it. Do you flash him back or ignore him? Maybe his Boxster is being worked on and this is his girfriend's car...? People of any car are free to say "nice mota mate" to anyone in any other car, but same model or not, some just don't.
Personally I ignore any car that's not a Porsche and then I ignore the ones with the engine in the wrong place, AND THEN I ignore the ones that are convertible

Yes it's a problem alright. My tt looks a little too much like a GT3 so that the uninitiated might think it's one of the low powered models.

hes right. i would hate anybody to confuse my car with a turbo. im neither old, fat or bald.
