I guess this has been asked before, but can't seem to find much from a search. What's everyone's views on choosing between a Tamora and a T350T?

Does it boil down to the T350's looks versus the Tamora's drop top, or is there more to it than that? Do you get a decent wind-in-the-hair experience with the targa panels removed? Are they much more of a chore to take on and off than throwing back the roof?

I'll be spending about £20-25k. Seems I should get a 2002/3 car for that money, but can't decide which to hunt down. Nice quandary to be in, though .

Dont think there is much between them in performance and handling, so probably your choice on whether you want a drop top or not. Have heard the targa roof in the T suffers from some wind noise, but not experienced it myself.

Personally, Tamora was the choice, just love to take the roof down on days like today!

Had both, and I liked both, they are different really.

Drive them both and you will see, but drive the Tam with the roof off, then the T350 to get a proper taster

Both great cars

Passengered round Cadwell in a T350T. It was awesome!

For me, I prefer the roof to come off and I think the Tam has a slightly bigger boot. That and being 100kg lighter means you can get more pies in it.

Which do you prefer? I think that is the key.

I find the Targa panels to be a PITA, but given that fact that the T350 looks 1,000,000 X better (approx.) that the Tamora, I'm happy.

I Haven't yet mastered fitting them properly either so i get lots of wind noise above 60. Solution? Whenever possible just leave the panels out, i use my car cover on the roof to stop the dust ect getting in.

Jobs a gud'n.

Targa panels are great IMO and look very batmobile. Taking them out gives plenty of wind-in-hair action, and you get to keep the full roll cage too which can only be a good thing. They are easy to fit quickly, but can take a minute or two to align/tigthen down so they don't whistle badly above 60mph. If any car you test drive does this its probably just lazy fitting by the dealer.

I recommend going for the slightly newer panel catches - front and rear as opposed to the older ones which fitted left and right (you'll know what I mean when you look).

Well that settles it, then - now I definitely can't decide.

Does anyone carry their dog behind the seats in a Tamora? I know there's space, but maybe my mad spaniel would be better off in a nice little hatchback - like the T350..?

As for the roll cage, am I right in thinking the Tamora's screen pillars offer some protection too?

Tricky one. I was very much in two minds and eventually went for the T.

I had a convertible before the T top and let's face it, it's not the same but I was still impressed with the open air feeling.

What swung it for me was (in my opinion) the better looks of the 350. That said, I have to say that the Tam is stunning and would have been my choice if we had a bit more sun!!!!

Don't worry about the noise from the panels. I've heard earlier models had their problems, but I have an early '05 and the noise is absolutely minimal below 90mph. There is a knack to fitting them and if you don't get it quite right, they will whistle.

Finally, get a sports exhaust and keep the revs above 4k. That will drown out any noise from the panels / girlfriend.

I took my sister and her lab in the Tamora. Also given a lift to a blind lady and her retriever.

Would have thought there were loads of places to stash a spaniel.

Always wanted a hot hatch

Difficult choice. Best way is to try both and your lack of common sense will prevail.

If you decide on the Tam. Spaniel------------------------------>Boot

Have had our sausage dog and King Charles Spaniel on the shelf, behind the back seats in the Tam without any probs, although they did yelp when I accelerated! LOL

I had a Tam now have a T350t. I prefer the looks of the T350 and it feels slightly more ridgid, probably due to the full roll cage. Find the T350 slightly more useable on a daily basis as well, Tam did have a big boot though and there is no substitute for open top motoring. Having said that i did love my Tam and it was a hard decision to swap. It's all down to personal taste and preferences on look and how much wind you want in yer hair.

Good luck you won't regret either.

Depends on how much hair you have. Ask the spaniel what he thinks.

Don't know about mad spaniels but I have seen a mad badger in the driving seat of a Tamora in the Peak District.
