Is there a way of blocking websites in IE just using keywords..?

I have found the area where you type in the full URL but we need something that is just based on keywords.

XP
IE6
Ad-aware
AVG free

For an office environment? Best bet would be to use a proxy server that allows you to ban specific sites or words.

All the PCs then connect via the proxy rather than direct to the internet. Side benefit is logging and tracking, meaning if anyone is up to no good they can be identified - tread carefully here though, make sure someone is aware of the employment law aspect of "spying".

Its just one PC here in the office so it just connects directly to the net without going through a firewall/server type thing.

Is there a 3rd party free app that can do the same thing (I have tried Zone Alarm in the past and found it horrendous to configure).

If it's just one or two sites then yes, just screw the DNS lookup by pointing them to the localhost in the hosts file. This will stop most non-techies.

Edited to say, PM me if you want info on this...

Or maybe one of the 'net nanny' type products will let you restrict the accessible sites?
