As i sit here typing this thread, im wondering not only why, but how someone who says they care for you, can treat you in such a shabby way.
I was dumped via text messaging some 3 years ago.
Now its about to happen again.
Someone i thought actually gave a dam about me, is acting like im the villan of the peice.
Nevermind the fact that ive not done anything wrong.
Ive been patient, understanding ,caring and attentive, but at every turn she just cant seem to trust me.
Oh she says she does, but as in a lot of things, actions speak louder than words.
Imagine being cut off for sometimes weeks on end by some who blows you away, leaving you think what you will, without any explanations as to why or where.
Just as i thought i might be about to emerge from the darkness thats been hanging over me for so long, the clouds gather even more strongly than before.
I thought i was strong enough to not let it get to me like this, but i was wrong.
Heartache is something i know well, along with disappointment and despair, they make comfortable bedfellows.
I dont know where to go from here, because i know whats coming, ive dealt with this before, but its too much to handle again.
Women can be so very cruel.

Deltaf,

no offence but you sound quite young?
Relationships dont always work! No ones fault. It is often better just to walk away from these situations.

Despite hopes to the contrary, people dont tend to change. If she doesnt trust you now, she never will. Trust is never earnt IMHO but it can easily be lost.

Deltaf, sorry to hear about this.

One piece of advice I'll give you (and you don't have to take it...) is dump her. Now. Sure, it'll hurt, but better to make a clean break now and end it rather than constantly worrying whether today's the day she'll dump you... Once you're free you can get on with picking up the pieces.

Not much I can say really to make the situation any better, but I'm thinking of you and wishing you luck and happiness. Hope it all works out for you.

Edited to say not all women are like this.... Some of us do have consciences....

How about not being contacted for nearly a week, then getting a text out of the blue 'We have to talk', travelling the 50mi to see her only for her to say "I think we should finish, goodbye" and that was it - then the 50mi back home again.

100mi round trip to hear I was dumped... I still think she was shagging a mate of hers cos the last time I was with her we were at the cinema and she casually dropped the hint she hadn't seen her mate recently - sure enough, that was the last day I heard from her...

Deltaf,
give a good mate a ring and go for a pint.
confide in your mate for a short period of time. he should nod, ask a couple of questions, then suggest you get pissed.
take his advice.
talk about bikes and cars and old times.
stick a smile on your face and smile at every single girl in the pub. some will smile back. remember their faces but do not, on any account, approach.

you seem pretty convinced that your are going to be dumped.
this can be a self-fulfilling prophesy if you want it to be ( and will be if you continue to think along these lines )- or as Sgirl said dump her and take charge of the situation. explain the why's and wherefores if you have to.

is she worth this level of grief?
there are any number of reasons for not hearing from your girlfriend for periods of time. sorry mate but not many of them are good.

anyhow to answer your question: how about blowing 2k on a holiday and getting dumped a week after you return?
it had been wrong for a long time before that. good holiday though. much better off now that i am not in a relationship that's fu**ed.
next!

i do hope you can work this out. good luck.

Deltaf,

Never easy being dumped, there is no good way. Not even easy doing the dumping as there were always good times that get remembered at times like this..

Quick pint and smile at every friendly face you see will do you the world of good.. Better still, a decent coffee in town somewhere; alcohol is a depressant and not good to drown your sorrows..

Hope it turns out ok..

Oi!
I'm not young and I'm still getting over my last relationship.

You can fall just as hard (even harder) when you really think it's for life.

Agree - trust is never earnt; it doesn't matter how hard you try; when it's lost you will never know why.

However, with a huge amount of hindsight at my disposal; would I go back to it ?
No way !

CarZee - sounds like a well-practised routine.... was this the pattern pre Mrs CZ then?

IMO your better off without this one.

Miss Right will come along, probably out of the blue.

Don't go out searching for her too hard, live your life as normal albeit looking-out for her, she will come into your life in due course, trust me.

You have to remember one thing mate, all women are f'king nuts. They don't even know what they want and when they do, they'll change their mind two minutes later for no apparent reason. Nature made them that way, they same as they made all men wanna shag anything with a pulse. It's just the way things are.

Time is the only healer and nothing anyone else says to you will make you feel better.

Look up www.hamiltonsescorts.com (juliette) and treat yerself.

Came home after a weekend climbing in Wales suffering from salmonella poisoning (Couldn't be arsed to cook my own breakfast after a friday night session) to find that, after 10 years of marriage, my wife had done a runner with my kids. Didn't see them for 4 months.
Gave her the sack and went climbing again until meeting the present Mrs Superflid. (Who I have been with for almost 10 years Nah, couldn't happen again?)
Move on.

Deltaf some of us have horror stories - it is, as Nacnud, says, far worse when you think it's for life. Move on, get a new woman, enjoy your friend's company, and be your own man. This is all part of the great learning curve of life, and the way you handle all of life's slings and arrows, says a lot about yuor character, and moulds you into a better person.

Be happy with yourself, close this chapter, and get out there. It really is a big bright world, full of really good, and really awful people. You will find someone else, and your current experience, will help you see through the bullshit, and not make the same mistake again.

Oh, yes, take control of this, and DUMP HER FIRST!!

Another 2p. Lean on your mates, but not for too long - they'll be there for a while, but it can be quite boring (I too have suffered the one that I thought was for keeps buggering off).

The other thing is to not try too hard to replace her. Don't be a b@stard, but remember that the new girls that you meet will want to be with someone that is fun and good to be with, not someone desperately trying to replace an old girlfriend.

Go out, have fun and you never know when the next adventure will tap you on the shoulder .

I do like CarZee's three point plan - that bloke is just so organised .

Women are certainly unpredictable at best, I agree though, you should dump her first. Just make it as humiliating as possible. It does seem that being a total bastard is the way to endear yourself to most women, can any of the fairer sex explain that one please.

My suggestion is a rodeo position shag and dump her during the act. Preferably in a very expensive hotel room, leaving her with the tab natuarally.

When I left school my then girlfriend was half Greek, she was spending the summer with family just outside Athens, I had decided to spend the summer driving round europe with a mate and had agreed it would be nice to go to Athens. athens is a six day drive from London. After a week on the road we roll into Athens.
Meet up with Girlfriend, she dumps me. 3500 miles and a week in the car and I get dumped. I was not happy - but it made it a far better holiday in the long run....doing that trip with a girlfriend waiting elsewhere would have cramped the style. The lesson being Move on, sure she was great, but there is better waiting so her loss.
