What do you think of the new TVR?

My personal thoughts based on these two illustrations are that TVR are loosing their identity and becoming another non-descript sportscar. I'm sure by becoming less individual they will become more popular with the masses and given time could be as popular as Porsche.

As i said before they need to go back to basics, and make pretty sports cars not sports coupes
IMO they lost it after the cerb

The drawing on the left looks like a Cerbera Sillouette with Speed 12 (the first S12) lights. Which can only be a good thing.

The Cerbera was an awesome machine, but I think they definitely need to go back to making stuff like the griff

don't like either of 'em. they look bland and boring which is something a TVR should never be.
i think it is definetely time for another 2 seater rear drive V8 Convertible like the Griff with a TVR built engine and running gear, that is just what would boost sales back up i think.

erm yes....I'm getting Jag Bonnet,I'm getting Mondeo grill and Batman lights! There's also something that says to me 1940/50s throw back design, good thing bad thing?

What's most striking for me is it's a complete change in direction. Plus the lack of statement make me hope that these drawings are just ideas and hopefully do not see the light of day. Then again, TVR are going for money rather than a exclusivity and all the non-TVR people I've shown these drawings to love them!

Ive had the Griff & Cerb,and am looking for a new TVR but none of the current models do it for me ! (and looking at those drawings nor do they)so im going to wait until the M/show and see what happens(regards engines etc), but i feel TVR as we have known and loved them will be no more!( i hope iam wrong)

With the dodgy offerings in this weeks Autocar Magazine containing the school boy fifth form drawings of future hard top TVRs (looking like a hybrid Audi TT and Cerbera). Appear to offer nothing (automatic gear boxes!) It hasnt worked for the last few years, where is the market for these now anonymous amorphous lumps which wont sell on reputation alone. The only favour done is that real TVRs will become classics very shortly

I don't think you can form any kind of opinion of the "new TVR" from a couple of concept sketches, think you should wait until the motor show, at least you might get to see a clay or wooden mock-up which should give a better idea, until then I think you should all chill out and drive your existing wheeler era TVR's!!!!!!

Not at all likely I hope, I would have to desert TVR.

Only Speed 12 could get away with this front...and that was borderline. This is neither stylish nor brutal, just plain ugly.

Let Ned have a go at it - and the designer!

I can only hope they stick to their path / and keep their origins . . . ML and PW were two worthy TVR devotees, 'highpriests of the brotherhood' I read yesterday . . . TVR was very very lucky with these guys. I can only hope todays 'devotees' in their MT will bring us worthy succesors . . . in both models and spirit. Amen
