I dont like it (at all )

It is an interesting photo though, the caption defies belief.

I'm finding it quite difficult to come to terms with the fact that photo is not 'shopped.

I agree. It also looks like a painting.

The 'sky' is actually a dune which does my head in as there are all sorts of things that atre there that shouldn't be!

Search Google Images for "Deadvlei Namibia" or " Dead vlei Namibia" you'll find quite a lot of similar photo's.

Is it not overexposed vegetation?

I just don't think it is that impressive. you have to squint to see what the background is (you'd not know if it did not tell you) the shadow at the front and all the bits in the middle don;t make for a very pleasing image.

Striking, yes. Compelling, yes. Creative, yes. Artistically, not stunning, but not a photo I would've deleted had I taken it.

It's interesting.

Nope - it's a rather large sand dune that rises up. The sand has an interesting makeup that makes it glow red like that, you can see it in the foreground, a little bit like Ayres (Uluru) rock
