Have used Lime wire for a couple of years,

but for no apparent reason it stopped connecting,

displayed a message saying 'firewall detected' checked XP'x firewall for exeptions
found limewire box ticked as usual, even turning FW off entirely did'ent help

tried uninstall/re-install
then tried
blubber file sharing, same

kazza, security went into overdrive, so cancelled this installation

wondering what else might have been upset

any thoughts

you had to be lurking.

is it the sharing, or file, you feel unable to convey on?

Maybe your ISP has introduced port blocking to try to prevent peer-to-peer software?

Do you have a firewall on your router?

I would recommend E-Donkey anyway, its far better and is quite good at negotiating networks.

www.zeropaid.com

And also peer guardian to protect you from all of those agencies trying to find you.

Prob solved

it was windows defender, a security program I installed some week or so ago,

there was no option to allow lime wire, so I un-installed it and hey presto
