Loud thud on doormat heralded arrival of above plus invite to launch at Thruxton 3 June. I assume same thing happened in a few other lucky households this morning?
Sensibly specced - inc. clubsport package - my car will hit £88K. Brochure has served to re-ignite niggle that clubsport pack is actually only a 'no cost' option if you're happy to drive the car sitting on the floor since the race seats are a compulsary additional £3k!
Amazing how a few well designed bits of glossy card and paper can get the heart rate up though.

It would be nice to be able to dismiss PCCBs, because of the cost and past problems, but they are a serious consideration.
- Porsche are convinced that PCCBs will become 'must haves' for all groups of GT3 users (road/track/race)
- They have apparently been further improved in terms of cooling, durability and weight saving (alloy hubs)
- All the road test cars seem to have them fitted
- Aside from braking performance, the PCCBs are said to sharpen all the GT3s other dynamics and most noticable is improved primary and secondary ride especially above 30mph.
I'm sure a lot of people will dismiss this as cobblers, but it will, no doubt, be the subject of a lot of discussion at the launch and I think a lot of sceptics may change their minds. Still a lot of dosh though.

Unless I'm missing something I can't see an option of 6CD player which I would have liked for trips to the 'Ring.
Still undecided about PCCBs. Funnily enough if I do go for them it won't particularly be for better braking - I'm sure there will be cheaper ways of sorting that - but for reduction in unsprung weight.

They'll be viable when the disk cost drops to something sensible. Maybe 800 GBP a disk max. Oh, and the gen-1s had alloy hubs too! I don't believe there is anything particularly wrong with the tech, but Porsche overpromised, underdelivered and overcharged. There is no logic in having a consumable that costs 20% of the value of the car to replace...Think that's about right. PCCBs seem v. expensive. Doubt a specialist is going to hit me for £5k if I want to uprate the standard brakes. My dealer reckons that I'd see very little of the PCCB cost back at resale - if anything - and it might even make the car more difficult to sell. Full marks for honesty!

The grey in the Circuit Driver review looked good, not sure which grey it is though.
I noticed the lack of a CD changer, I think you can get a single CD player.

Yes the standard sound system comes with single CD player.

Yes the standard sound system comes with single CD player - although there will be purists out there unhappy that we're even considering such things on a GT3!
Its linked to a BTCC race meeting so you get hospitality and veiwing from the Porsche suite all day, watch the BTCC races - there's also Porsche Cup Racing - and in addition - it says here - there will be a formal presentation of the car plus behind the scenes access to pits, drivers etc. All very good but I suspect all us ungratefull lot will just want to drive the car!
