How does it work? My understanding is if anything is picked up on the 111 check, it must be fixed before the warrany is place?

If, for example, the brake pads are found to be near replacement time, will they make you replace them to get the warranty?

i.e. Will a non-warrantable item need to be fixed, in order for the warranty to be available?

what would be really useful is some sort of 'search' facility, whereby this question could be 'searched' for. just a thought.

i hope your 'search' for answers bears fruit.

oh come on man, forgive me, but asking about the 111 point check is just plain lazy. in the time it just took you to admonish me you could have found what youre looking for. hell, id be surprised if there wasnt a thread about just this in the last three pages.

Well, i wouldnt call it lazy, just lazy in my thinking in that i didnt think of checking the search function as most warranty threads always seem to be about the RMS..

However, i did indeed follow your advice and found the answer with a search for 111 - although it seems to range from getting everything fixed, to only warranty items, but im pretty confident its the latter.

Apologies for the over-eager early reply from me

my apologies too if i seemed overly sarcastic, i was genuinely only trying to help*, a search will always give a more thorough answer than a quick thread starter.

good luck chum

*whilst being a little sarcastic. cos, you know, its fun

Man, today was a great day in all respects save for one. Spend the weekend in France with the love of my life. Food, wine, romance........ BUT the 996 did not have a good day.......... (and before you boring lot start, my RMS is a dry as a nun's crack.)

Some thieving little french cts stole my crested valve caps while the car was parked in Boulogne

To be fair to em, they didn't let the tyres down or scratch it, but I would have CUT the garlic eating surrender monkeys' BALLS OFF if I'd caught them.

Off to OPC for a fresh set tomorrow. I hope they die a slow painful death.

Some little English cts had mine last week.

Got some nice Black plastic ones now, must have taken a couple of seconds off the 0-60.

The dealer that checked mine over required brake discs and pads to be replaced. I did this and had to bring the car back to get it checked AGAIN because they didnt supply/fit the discs and pads... stealers

Well you were had.... I think.... Pads and discs are not covered by the warranty so how can they insist work not covered has to be done???

This is where i do get confused - how can they demand a non-warrantable item be repaired before they issue a warranty!?
