3 pin ecu connector and software

Does anyone know where I can get the 3 pin connector for attaching to the ECU, mine does not have the 9 pin serial port on the circuit board unfortunately. I've had a look through the RS catalogue but not been able to spot one.

Also if someone could email me the software so I can use the cable once I get it finished that would be a big help as well.

This may all be irrelevant anyway if I find the headlight pod is bonded in tonight and I need to damage it to change the smashed headlight glass. Seeing that the car is a slightly faded Rosso Pearl and cannot be matched it would mean getting a new pod and full respray (gulp) making it the most expensive stone chip in history!!

I never saw the same question on the second page of the forum, doh. (It never showed up on a search though). So I'll use the connector from the rear lights and I have the pin to pin connections from another thread.

All I could do with now is a copy of the software, anybody?

Sorry for sounding thick but how do you go about using the connector from the rear lights - bearing ion mind opening the bonnet is the extent of my knowledge on cerbs!!

I've not done it yet, stil working on changing my headlight, which thankfully the pod is held in by wing nuts, phew!

However if you like me have an ECU without a serial connector on the PCB and just has a 3 pin and 2 pin connector on a fly lead coming out of the box you need to connect the laptop to the 3 pin connector via the serial port. It appears that no one has ever found a source for these 3 pin connectors so you can nick one from the rear lights and wire it to a serial cable, you just replace the light connector with a block connector from B&Q. The pin connections are as below:

Computer ECU
Pin 1 ---> Pin 1
Pin 3 ---> Pin 3
Pin 4 ---> Pin 2

Hope this makes sense, hopefully I will get round to doing this in the next couple of days and be able to provide more details if neccesary.

Damn, wish we knew that last month when trying to diagnose what we later found out to be dodgy throttle pots.

We tried a bit of guesswork on the pin-outs and got nothing, found out on my way home though that we'd zapped the wiper park position
