944 s2 oil spec

Im looking thru the owners book and porsche list many grades of oil that can be used in the car. Is there a school of thought as to the best oil spec and brand for my s2 for everyday use in our climate ? (I do not "race" the car !)

Standard spec is 10/40 either semi or fully synth. If you're running 12K between oil
changes then I'd go synth, if you change like I do at 6K then semi.

I am expecting to do about 3k a year as this is a weekend car. If semi is OK then I'll use that as the costs will be less.
