Anyone know the best place to source a new leather gear lever gaiter.
Mine (in portland grey) to fit a T350, is torn and needs replacing.
Any idea of cost also ?

Thanks in advance.

There is someone on e bay - Mr gaitor I think he is called who makes them for all cars including all TVRs I have bought from him before as have a few others I know and they are top quality and very resonable if you send him a small sample he will ensure that it matches perfectly.

Agreed, my set for my Cerb are super, nice Napa leather and fit better than the factory items that need a cable tie to secure the handbrake gaiter, lol

When I contacted him - he had not done a T350 yet and was willing to do it for free..

Don't know if he has done one yet.

Decided to replace mine...what's the best way to remove the gaitor? I assume it's just glued in place? Should I remove the transmission tunnel cover off to get at the gaitor? Advice please

On my Tam you need to take the transmission tunnel out - 2 screws at the front sides, slide it backwards, employ horizontally challenged friend or a child to undo the 4 nuts holding the handbrake cover on and out it comes.

Will Mr Gaitor do them in plastic or whatever this non-leather stuff is?

Ok, I shall give it a go later. But before I get my hands dirty, where are these nuts? Maybe the T350 is slightly different.

Think they probably just do them in leather but I guess vinyl is a possibility. His phone number is 020 89493813, give him a call.

Just foun these posts about replacing leather on the handbrake and gearstick. The link for Mr Gaitor doesn't seem to work anymore. Does anyone have an up-to-date link for him?

I went ahead and got Mr Gaiter to make one for my Tam.

I think I was the first one he'd done.

I took my blue Ambla gear gaiter off and sent it to him asking specifically for it to be returned in case I didn't like the new one.

He sent me a black leather gaiter and didn't include the old one.

I emailed to say that it was very nice but didn't match the handbrake gaiter so could I have a blue one and my old one back?

He suggested that I send the handbrake gaiter to him with the new gear gaiter and he'd do them both in blue for the same price and return my original gear gaiter.

So a few days later I got 2 blue gaiters in very nice soft leather but no original back.

Anyway - he now sells these on Ebay offering both gear and handbrake gaiters together.

Presumably all of these are from my original templates.

I'd recommend them 'cos my Tam looks very smart now and you don't notice the difference between the gaiters and the Ambla elsewhere in the car.

I'll post pics if anyone wants to host.

Thank you for you responces. Have emailed Gaiter Man as he's listing a Magnolia gearstick and handbrake cover, but on my original TVR invoice lists it as cream. Guessing there will be a slight difference.

Will let you know how it goes.

TVR Power ask for Andy in spare parts,

I just got 2 portland grey, 1 for handbrake and 1 for gear stick, I changed both so that the colour matched. Cost about £40 for the 2 if I remember correctly.

I just bought gear lever / handbrake gaiters from the internet guy and they look great.

Portland grey - delivered for £32 the pair.
