Hmmm, Lusting after the red 400SE in the classifieds, but what am I going to do with my 350iFHC ? any advice ? Pros and cons ?

Simple - get the 400 and use the 350 on wet days! Quite different beasts. I've had 2* 350i and the 450 not surpringly a step change in performance etc. I like the 350FHCs and would like one as a day-to-day car. My 450 most definately couldn't be used day-to-day but a lot of that is down to the mods
That 400SE is a beauty !
Also, I think the Wedge is one of the few road-going sports cars that looks cool with a rollbar fitted.
I had the FHC and the convertible at the same time, and the main thing I noticed was how much
quieter (apart from nice V8 noise) the droptop was compared to the fixed head.
Even with new suspenders the fixed head seemed to be all bangs, crashes, and rattles, and of course misted up something chronic in the wet anyway, with drips of water here and there.
I think they're all so different even between individual cars of theoretically the same spec,
that a drive is the only way to make up your mind.
I certainly understand your dilemma though.
