Get it checked out by a Sony repair centre - it could be as simple as a dry joint.

Otherwise, John Lewis for the extended warranty!

Safeways, Tescos and Sainsbury's all sell Philips TVs at good loss leader prices.

You are having a bad time and the month isn't even over yet. Problems come in 3s, so nail a horse shoe over your front door, keep a lump of coal in your pocket and find a lucky rabbit's foot. Do not walk under ladders, handle mirrors or go anywhere near black cats. And if there is a Friday the 13th this year - stay in bed.

Hope you get the car and the TV sorted soon without further incident. Chin up.

There is another option, of course. Not that I'd condone it, you understand.

If your household insurance covers accidental damage, then drop it down the stairs. Tell 'em you were moving it upstairs for your sick missus to watch in bed and ooops slipped can I have a new one please?

As the Churchill dog would say, "ohhhhhhhhh yes"

My ceiling fell down and damaged my 4yr old TV, the insurance gave me a 36 wide screen Philips with all the bit and bobs. Sometimes these insurance peeps do come up trumps as my old one was a "top of the range" but "normal". As it was "top of the range" they gave me the same.

He could probably sue Sony and whoever built the house for being negligent in allowing him to fall down the stairs too. Double result!!

I dunno BB - I hope things don't come in threes for you

First your TVR

Then your TV

Just your "T" to go....

Sounds daft, but if you vaccume the inside, get rid of the dust, you might just be in luck. Has worked for me before.
