Drove into London this morning at about 6:30 along the Highway towards Tower Bridge. I just could not believe how many 911's there were passing on the other side of the road. At times it was literally every other car. I presume it's people who live in the City and West End heading out to Canary Wharf. I live out in Essex and I'm pretty sure I have the only 997S in my town (at least haven't seen any others regularly), there's a few 996 Turbos about too and the odd older 911.
Tell you what though, if you live in a part of the country where there aren't many around believe me the Highway would freak you out! It was like a meet down there!

Where my kid's go to Nursery (about a mile away) there's 3 996s, 1 Boxster, and 2 Cayennes.
You're a lucky man. Near where I live there are 2 nurseries, so my street is full of yummy but dummy mummies in ML-Class Mercs, Discoveries, X5s and Cayennes using other cars' bumpers as parking aids. God bless my off-street parking space.

Mine was the silver GT3 with the tired looking bloke behind the wheel. Know what you mean...I counted 20 911's in the 9 mile drive home along the same route last week. There are far too many 911's around this part of the world. Trouble is - can't think of anything else I'd rather drive at the moment.
Almost sold myself on a V8 Vantage a few months back. Now there's a car you don't see too often in these parts.
I have to add to this by saying that I really envy the situation you all find yourselves in , in the UK.
The car tax regime , the large enthusiast base and the motorway system supports buying 'prestige' cars .. there is therefore , fantastic variety to choose from when looking in the used market.
This also means that service options available , from opc to hartech to autofarm , make life so much easier for the dedicated Porsche owner. It means that your prospective 'new' used car has at least the potential to be pristine physically and mechanically.
It IS a small price to pay , having a good scatter of pork about every time you leave your driveway.
I know I DO enjoy the rarity of my car over here , but your advantages far outweigh mine , and I would swap in a heart(tech)beat.

This morning's 40 minute stroll into work (through posh St Johns Wood to Baker Street) revealed six 997s (all either silver, black or grey), five 996s, four Boxsters, four Cayennes and two 944s. If anyone's read 'the curious incident of the dog in the night-time', you may recognise my behaviour as being slightly akin to Asperger's syndrome, but I don't care, I enjoyed it.

I should probably do something about that.
