Right.

The Chim's been off the road for the best part of 2 weeks for a service, replacment shocks and more than a few other odds and ends.. I collect her tomorrow and suspect that I'm in for a bit of a spanking.

So here goes, roll up, roll up. Guess the cost...

Annual (12K) service
New shocks and springs all round (Gaz Golds) - seized bolt necessitated new rear wishbone too.
Handbrake indicator switch replaced
Sump gasket replaced
Leak at PAS hose connection fixed
Steering rack gaitor replaced
Door realignment on passenger side
Paint repair on rear bumper due to clown in a van (see previous posts)
New tyres all round (Toyos)
New ignition leads and extenders

Phew, that's it (I hope!) Wish me luck...

PS. No complaints the car's been great '99T with ~35K. Can't wait to get her back.

A 12K Service and new shocks (lower wishbone as the shock wouldn't part company with it) and starter motor plus a few very small things was about £1400 IIRC.

So you will be lucky if it is under 2k.

I recon it might be nearer to £2,600 from an indi...

£300 - Annual (12K) service
£600 - New shocks and springs all round (Gaz Golds) - seized bolt necessitated new rear wishbone too (is it normal to replace just one side, what about the setup and handling?.
£30 - Handbrake indicator switch replaced
£70 - Sump gasket replaced (a short term fix, it will leak again eventually)
£15 - Leak at PAS hose connection fixed
£45 - Steering rack gaitor replaced
£50 - Door realignment on passenger side
£400 - Paint repair on rear bumper due to clown in a van (depending on extent of damage)
£600 - New tyres all round (Toyos)
£100 - New ignition leads and extenders

Plus VAT = £2600

Mind you, could easily be over £3,000!!!
