Beware the latest edition of Adobe reader.
When you go to download this you will find it is a 27Mb or so file. If you are on dialup (yes there are still some of us left!) you may not want to spend the time downloading it. If you don't want to start and complete the download and spend the time doing it DO NOT DO IT at any costs.
If you start it and want to pause it, this is very hard to do. The program will then interfere with everything you want to do and continue to ask if you want to finish the download. It is very hard to get rid of this message.
Frankly, I get the impression it has mucked my computer, and it now regularly crashes and seizes although I have finally downloaded the full reader after deleting it and reinstalling the original version and then uninstalled and then reinstalled my ISP software.
The reader also comes with the lates Photoshop beginner, which interferes with everything in sight.
I downloaded this lot because I felt I needed to keep up to date. Even though I do not like Acrobat reader, I was warming to it from the purpose of possibly writing and transmitting secure documents that cannot be tampered with. Somehow this program seems to have interfered with this computer so much that is it becoming almost impossible to use and I shall have to uninstall and reinstall Windows xp in the hope that this may finally sort it out.
I would add that I am not a computer geek, but know my way around reasonably well.
