Up nice and early. Really nice drive in the sun. Arrived at MacDs for breakfast. Switched off engine. Realised I left my key at home. Doh!

I've had nightmares about doing this. I know it's gonna happen, it's just a matter of time. Most likely, when I do it, I'll drive to the IoW ferry, board, switch off engine, watch the loading ramp close up, go for a coffee, reach the other side, go back to the car and...ah...

. . . and now for the worst bit: my cellphone is attached to my belt.

I hate losing stuff . . . and if it looks stupid (and it does most of the time: a keychord ffs!) I take my briefcase (more a doctors case) to put my stuff in . . . and guess what, I never lost anything since (1995).

Been there...realised I'd left my keys at home after filling up at petrol station, to add insult the tanker turned up and couldn't get in because of my car...got the usual "oh, it's a TVR, must have broken down" b..llocks..

How can you drive off with out the car key? (it is the car key yea?)

Push button start, no key as such just an alarm fob thingy - as long as you push the starter button within set period after having de-immobilised the car then you don't need the fob anymore. As a lot of people start the car and then leave it to idle, the fob often gets carried off and put somewhere silly - like back in your house.

Not done it myself yet but I suspect it is only a matter of time.
