having worn thick glasses from a very early age, ive never really bothered with sunglasses, but since i got the cab its become a necessity, so ive just forked out for my first pair of very swish, blue-tinted, mirrored, polarised prescription sunglasses in which to pose outrageously as i burble through town, top down.
Yesterday i drove past a couple of the local max power lads in their souped-up, flared wheel arch citroen saxo. to do them credit they really have lavished time and attention on it and, if you like that sort of thing, i'm sure its a wonderful example. In particular the paint job is amazing - one of those varying colour purpley-green iridescent jobs that changes with varying light/angles, similar to the sort of colour you often see on a tvr.
But looking at it through polarised glassses i suddenly realised its absolutely barn-door turd coloured. and i assume everyone else with sunglasses on is thinking the same.
should i pop across to the tvr forum and let them know?

It's great driving into the sun in the wet, you keep wondering why everyone else is going so slowly and then you remember that they can't see.
Time to go looking for some flip painted TVR's I think
While I was posing my way home last night I pulled up alongside a chav-mobile that I believe used to be a Saxo. It too looked like turd, only I wasn't wearing polarized sunglasses and it looked like turd that someone had painted electric blue. 
Unfortunately I suffered an involuntary chuckle as I sighted the offending vehicle, which the Kevin behind the wheel didn't really appreciate.
I'm always amused by the disparity between the selection of colours for these "reflex" schemes. Tuscan owners generally go for subtle combinations of similar colours such as sky blue and royal blue, which really complement the lines of the bodywork (admittedly you only see them on the back of recovery trucks). But not for Kevina and his Nova, oh no, subtlety isn't his bag, man. He favours the most garish and contrasting colours possible, purple and orange anyone? Perhaps turd brown and blue.

Have Oakley Iridium Juliette's ( at least I think that's what the sign said when I bought them, it was a while ago) and they are the dogs danglies
Also "borrow" my father's 1980 ish pair of gold frame, green lense Aviators occassionally when he's not looking. Never thought for once they'd come back into fashion
