The government claim that they are responsible for bringing down accident rates over the last 15 years using thier cameras and new rules. < Radio 4 earlier this week >
I cannot help thinking as I sat staitionary tonight that it is because we cannot move on the roads. Also 15 years ago ABS was an option wasn't it, unless you bought a decent car anyway. Today the average car can outrun an 83 Ferrari 308 and stop in 5feet so are these the reasons or is the government really great?

15 years ago we had a Conservative government.... why not start from 1997, he asked, knowing what the answer was.

Also....

- Education standards up
- Crime down
- Waiting lists down
- Pigs fly
- Man found on Pacific island who believes Labour Party's massaged figures.

Now, is this accident rate (ie, number of cars crashing), or the KSI rate?

And why hasn't it been falling as fast as it used to before they buggered everything up?

It will be the KSI rate I suspect... That way the increases in vehicle saftey and the reflected reduction in serious injuries can be claimed by the liars in power...

That is the question.
People are better informed now than ever before - internet , etc, MOT standards are higher - yes even yours ! My old mini used to blot out the landscape with a grey haze which no one could see through ! BRAKES are way better, cars are WAY more reliable and have loads of safety features like ESP, PSM , ABS etc (You could not call a power lock diff on a 2.8 Capri a safety feature, more a means to power slide ! ) so in not so many words I think I am right.

SO GOVERNMENT PEOPLE - Stop bulls****** us about your fantasic road safety measures becuase most of them equate to a means to strip the average motorist of even more money !
