Rattle in door

I did have a rattle in the passenger door at one time, but dealer found the problem which was the winding mechanism coming apart, this was also gave the symptom of the window trying to lift the roof up. I would have thought it would have been fairly obvious to the dealer once the door panel was removed.
Does it do this with the window down? If it only does it with the window wound up it could be the window rattling on the header rail guide as the windows do not always slide up tight against these.They can be seen with the roof removed and look where the top front edge of the window sits. I have put some small strips of Velcro on mine which cured the problem.
