But I recommend you get it done along with the rest of the ACT induction kit (which replaces the horrible TVR 'elephant trunk' (which looks like it was stolen from a tumble dryer) with a nice smooth bore pipe.

I had mine done and the engine's keener to rev and doesn't come off-band until a little higher in the rev range.

Aparently if you block them it restricts airflow within the car and can make it noisier (not in a good way). I think general wisdom is that it's fine as long as you leave an air gap.

Fitted them to mine. Grille goes against the carpet in cabin. Put some 13mm nuts between the other side of the fibreglass and the speaker to act as spacers so the air can still flow. Wires to connect are by the n/s door lock behind a bit of carpet that just lifts up. No drilling needed to get the wires into the boot, there is a gap there anyway.

Haven't fitted them myself, but would suggest a bit of care as fuel tank is right behind!

A) Fitted the ACT induction kit the other week, well worth the cash for the induction noise alone! and it seems to rev a lot easier.

B) Fitted 5 1/2" Infinity speaker in place of the rear grilles in the same week, used 1" blocks of softwood as spacers on the inside 2 screws to get the speakers pointing straight forward and leaving an air gap so the doors close easier.

Fitted the K & N filter plus Act's smooth bore induction hose couple of weeks ago and boy what a difference...!
I can't see how the engine was able to breathe with the old filter it was like an old oily clogged up sponge..
Definately more induction roar and quicker response on throttle now.
Money well spent IMO.
As for the speakers.. Don't know, I have a medallion and chest wig.
